Patients requiring admission as an inpatient, day patient or community patient
must be referred for treatment by a psychiatrist who has been given admitting
and clinical privileges by the Toowong Private Hospital Board.

ADMITTING PATIENTS TO THE INPATIENT UNIT

If you have been granted admitting privileges to Toowong Private Hospital and
you would like to refer a patient to the Hospital's Inpatient Unit, please contact
the Hospital's Inpatient Services Manager on 07 3721 8021.

If you are psychiatrist outside the Greater Brisbane area and have a patient you
would like to admit, please contact the Doctor Assist Line on 1300 131 243; you
will be invited to discuss the patient's presenting illness with the admissions
service who will advise if admission at Toowong Private Hospital is suitable, if
there is a bed available, and if an admitting psychiatrist is available to take on
your patient's care.

ADMITTING PATIENTS TO DAY PROGRAMS

If you have been granted admitting privileges to Toowong Private Hospital and
you would like to refer a patient to a Hospital Day Program, please contact
Toowong Private Hospital's Day Treatment Services by either:

• completing the referral form attached and then
    - posting it to: Day Program Treatment Services, 496 Milton Road, Toowong
      Qld 4066
  or
      - faxing it to: 07 3721 8054
  
• writing a letter of referral outlining the program you wish to refer your patient to;
      please address your letter to Director - Day Treatment Services, 496 Milton
      Road, Toowong, Qld 4066
• calling the Day Treatment Services on 07 3721 8055.

If you do not have admitting privileges and have a patient you would like to
admit to a Day Program, please contact the Day Treatment Services on
07 3721 8055, who will advise if admission to the Day Program is suitable.

• calling the Community Services Manager on 07 3721 8084.

If you do not have admitting privileges and have a patient you would like to
admit to the community programs, please contact the Community Services
Manager on 07 3721 8084 to discuss the patient’s presenting illness and
determine if admission to one of the Community Programs at Toowong Private
Hospital is suitable, and if an admitting psychiatrist is available to take on
your patient's care.
