For inpatient admission, it is necessary for General Practitioners to refer to a Psychiatrist with admitting privileges to Toowong Private Hospital. If assistance is required in locating a psychiatrist, please contact the Admissions Officer on our Doctor Assist number: 1300 131 243.
Doctor Assist is an admission service only, providing the capacity for direct referrals for inpatient admission from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm seven day per week.
The referring doctor can contact the hospital directly and dependent on bed availability, will be put in contact with the Senior Psychiatry Registrar or the Psychiatrist on-call to discuss the patient's presenting problem/s that precipitate the need for admission to hospital.
